this is how i found my passion!
in this blog post, i want to share some of the steps i did to find my passion. passion, that would keep me going even if i wasn’t going to get paid for it. passion, that was still going to be in the core of my being, when things would get tough. AND most importantly passion, that was going to help me do a full 180 and truly live. 🤍
it can be tough to find your passion and pursue a career that you truly love. but the good news is, it's possible with the right mindset and approach. so how to get to that mindset? i wanted to share some actionable steps that have helped me find my passion and change the course to a more fulfilling life:
step 1: look within
think about what makes you happy, what you're good at, and what values are important to you. for me, i realized that writing & creating visuals, but also helping & inspiring others were two things that brought me a lot of joy. by reflecting on my strengths, interests, and values, i was able to narrow down potential career paths that aligned with them.
step 2: experiment
experiment and try new things! it can be scary to step out of your comfort zone, but it's important to push yourself and explore new opportunities. i’ve always been one to get excited about a lot of things — it helped me to try things and choose elements and pieces to take onboard with. for me, i’ve always been a world explorer at heart. i’ve lived in different places in the world, and worked as a trolly dolly (aka a flight attendant), and i’ve always felt at my best when i’m in an international setting and surrounded by people.
don't be afraid to fail or realize that something isn't for you. it's all part of the process. like when i was studying dentistry in australia, well… i guess i thought it’d be fun to challenge myself and use the more ‘book smart’ part of me. but nope, that wasn’t for me. and nope, i didn’t graduate. (..from that school anyway!)
step 3: ask and learn from others
learning from others who have already found their passion can be incredibly inspiring and helpful. ask questions, and connect with people from the industry. i don’t mean to steal anyone else’s passion, but you can always be inspired by others! if you find similar interests & passions, ask them how they discovered theirs, and how did they get where they are now? seek for different kinds of paths as opportunities, but DO create your own.
now you may think, what is this passion of mine that i am talking about?
my journey towards helping others and offering peer support has led me to discover a passion for shining light on their paths, enabling them to find success in this world. guiding individuals, offering encouragement, and being a source of motivation has become a fulfilling endeavor, empowering others to overcome obstacles and discover their own strengths. being a beacon of light has given me purpose and immense joy in witnessing their growth and triumphs.
have you discovered YOUR passion? and have you leveraged it to create a business?
